Spiritual care and community for seniors · Drayton Valley & Pembina Region
Faith Matters was born from a deep curiosity and compassion for the unanswered questions that linger in the hearts of seniors as they navigate the later stages of life and draw closer to eternity.
Through years of working in funeral homes, volunteering in hospitals, and serving in senior homes, we witnessed a profound need for spiritual support among this growing demographic. Many seniors grapple with diverse and sometimes confusing questions about faith — often without adequate resources or communities to guide them. Faith Matters emerged as a not-for-profit ministry dedicated to providing thoughtful, practical, and compassionate answers to these spiritual inquiries, fostering hope and connection for seniors, their caregivers, and churches.
A world where seniors are supported in their spiritual journey through trained volunteers and professionals equipped to address matters of faith — where every senior feels empowered to explore their beliefs, find comfort in their questions, and experience spiritual growth with dignity and care.
To build vibrant communities within senior institutions that encourage individuals to share their personal stories and engage in meaningful conversations about faith — fostering supportive spaces that deepen understanding and enrich the lives of seniors and those who care for them.

Founder · Faith Matters
Raised in a Christian home in Midland, Ontario, Brent's pastoral calling came early — leading him to forgo a football scholarship to attend a denominational school in Regina, where he completed a one-year "deepen your faith" program that marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to ministry.
Brent spent 25 years with Midland Alliance Church, serving in Youth Ministries and Prayer Ministries before becoming Senior Pastor. He then served as District Overseer for five years, overseeing more than 80 churches and ministries and helping to strengthen the broader church community.
In March 2024 Brent transitioned to Drayton Valley, AB, where he ministers regionally as part of the Legacy 728 ministry team. He is a proud father of four grown children and finds great joy in his three grandchildren.
