Mission Nepal · The Ezra Mandate · Marengkot & Beyond

"For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel."
— Ezra 7:10

In January 2026, within a sanctuary in Northern Alberta, a clear call shifted the course of a life. As Yubaraj Lama Sintan stood at the altar, the Lord spoke: "Son, I am calling you to go for Me to your home nation of Nepal." This mission is not built on human ambition — it is built on the grace-filled hand of God.

Yubaraj Lama Sintan

I was born and raised in a devout Buddhist family. As a child I was devoted to Buddhist practices and I dreamed of becoming a monk. But it was Christian love that first drew me in — a family nearby treated me with such kindness that I would secretly visit their fellowship, even though it was not allowed. There I encountered Bible stories for the first time.

I was nine years old when I first read about the Cross. Of all the stories, it was Jesus on the Cross that stopped me. I remember reading His story all day with tears streaming down my face. I now understand it was God touching my heart even then.

At fifteen I made the decision publicly — I accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour and Lord, and was baptized that same year. From that moment everything was different. Despite an opposing family and a challenging environment, the fear was gone, replaced by a peace I had never known.

Now at 33, I can testify that God has been faithful through every season — even through my own errors and failures. It was Jesus who touched a nine-year-old boy's heart. It was the Holy Spirit who gave courage to a fifteen-year-old to follow Him against all odds. And it is the Heavenly Father who has been faithfully leading me every step of the way. I now surrender my life daily to His kingdom work — and that journey has brought me back to Nepal, to the place where it all began.

The Ezra model

The Lord has specifically commissioned this mission after the pattern of the Prophet Ezra — a three-fold commitment that shapes everything we do in Nepal.

1

To seek

Setting our hearts to deeply understand and study the Word of the Lord — making Scripture the foundation of everything.

2

To obey

Living out the truths of the Kingdom as a living testimony in daily life — not hearers only, but doers.

3

To teach

Re-establishing God's statutes and judgments throughout Nepal — empowering the local church to stand firm in truth and multiply disciples.

The field: Marengkot & beyond

Nepal is a land of breathtaking beauty and profound spiritual need. As Yubaraj returns to his birthplace of Marengkot, he goes to strengthen the indigenous church-planting movement, equip local leaders with sound biblical doctrine, and restore the spiritual foundation of communities through the power of the Gospel.

A church in formation

The Church at Marengkot is taking shape. What began as a call at an altar in Northern Alberta is now becoming a living community of believers gathering in homes, sharing meals, learning the Word, and growing together in the grace of God. The foundation is being laid — one life, one family, one village at a time.
